Hotel in the 12th century Cistercian Abbey
Among mysterious 12th century buildings of the Cistercian Abbey, enriched with beauty of the Pilica river valley, magnificent Hotel Podklasztorze proudly presents its majesty.
It is a place where in 1176 duke Kazimierz Sprawiedliwy granted Sulejow to the Cistercians who built a church and a monastery at the right bank of Pilica. Defence buildings and farmhouses, where Hotel Podklasztorze is situated now, were raised in successive centuries. It is one of the best preserved Cistercian complexes in Europe, granted historic monument status with an ordinance of the President of Poland. (ordinance) as a monument to history.
